MultiJet technology produces 3D prints by rapidly spraying and curing liquid photopolymer in a layer by layer fashion. Plastics are 3D printed like printing with a Inkjet printing head which places small particles of light curing plastic on a print bed. This layer is then hardened with UV light, the build plate retracts by one step and a new layer is applied. The layer thickness can be extremely thin, like the resin technology.
In addition to being really fast technology, MultiJet comes with several other advantages. Because it is a more controlled process, it can print fast various materials, with high level of detail and precision. And unlike both FFF and resin technology, there’s no need to mechanically remove the support structure, as the support material is wax, which can be easily removed, allowing geometries with no access to be printed.
The plastic 3D printed models made with MultiJet systems have a high surface quality. The materials available are rigid, elastomeric, flexible, transparent, high temperature. Also, there is a version for 100% wax for model casting, ideal for jewelry.
